INDIVIDUAL AND COUPLES THERAPY

Individual therapy begins by exploring your past experiences, present circumstances, and formulating your future goals while developing an effective way of communication. In couples therapy we explore all that for each of you and enable you to develop healthy ways of integrating yourselves to the aspirations you establish for your partnership.
In therapy with me you will gain control of your life while we work together through the obstacles on your way. Before you can clearly express your needs and desires with others, you will learn non-confrontational communication and tools to ensure you remain authentic, honest and intentional.
Internal conflict of seeking security and love while craving individual expression and freedom can be harnessed to benefit a partnership. You learn to view the cognitive dissonance you experience as a way to promote your personal healing while reconciling the conflicts this creates in your couple.
Substance abuse, compulsive eating, and other self-destructive behaviors may inhibit your well-being and satisfaction. Untreated depression and anxiety may keep you from recognizing how unhelpful patterns shape your experience. I coach you toward the steps to the mastery needed to regain the joy and freedom that can be yours by having real and authentic conversations with the most important people in your life.
My training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) enables you to cast aside past the emotional blocks that keep you from living an emotionally expressive life. We can work to move through trauma, loss, and grief offering you a chance at a changed, more adaptive perspective on your present life.
